3 new placements are on offer!

Right to Play offers an internship/placement in Ramallah (Palestinian Territories) from April 2010 onwards. Focus will be to  research the obstacles by youth facing unemployment and wishing to venture out in small and medium enterprises. The barriers they face with regards of regulation, stigmatization and informal structures.

 

An internship/placement in Buntingford (UK) at Peacechild International is offered from May – December 2010. Peacechild International aims to research, map and compare the different approaches and strategies currently being used by young people and development professionals to monitor, assess and evaluate development initiatives. The purpose of this project is to create a model framework, on the web and in a printed booklet/toolkit, which enables young people, youth-led development practitioners and youth-serving organisations to apply a holistic approach to the monitoring and evaluation of their youth-led initiatives.

 

YIKE is offering an internship/placement in Nairobi (Kenya) from May/June 2010 onwards. A special research on innovation in the informal sector is requested. 1. Researching the ways in which local youth in informal economic environment can be assisted to innovate products or services, allowing them to gain copyrights from new inventions leading to additional revenue creation. 2. The barriers youth face coming away from copycat entrepreneurship.

New students for April/May periode

In April/May 5 students will start research in Uganda, Kenya, and Thailand. Topics will be “Prejudices and lack of trust”, “Youth Financial Services (MFI’s)”, “Barriers”, and “Motivation of entrepreneurs”.





New students in the field

Currently 5 new students are in the field to conduct research in Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. Subjects of their reasearch are “Conducive environment youth employment in Ethiopia”, “Perceptions of Youth Entrepreneurs about Collective Engagement”, “Youth Inclusive Financial Services”, “Female Youth Entrepreneurship”, and “Youth entrepreneurship”.
